Lower body lift / thigh lift
Thigh lift surgery reshapes the thighs by reducing excess skin, and sometimes fat, which tightens and smooths the thighs that have become loose or flabby due to weight loss, aging or genetics. These procedures can effectively remove stubborn areas of excess fat and skin that are resistant to diet and exercise. Liposuction may be utilized in addition to or instead of directly excising skin.
Surgery is performed under general anesthesia and on an outpatient basis. Recovery depends on the extent of the procedure but strenuous exercise is typically avoided for 6 weeks. Side effects include bruising, swelling and soreness. Drains may be placed and patients are required to wear a compression garment in the weeks following surgery to help decrease swelling.
