Liposuction

Our board certified plastic surgeons have extensive experience performing liposcuplture and body contouring procedures. Liposuction slims and reshapes areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits and improving your body contours and proportion. Liposuction techniques may be used to reduce localized fat deposits of the: thighs, hips and buttocks, abdomen and waist, back, upper arms, inner knee, chest area, chin and neck. The latest techniques in ultrasound- and power-assisted liposuction may be employed depending on the location of the body and the surgical plan. Liposuction can also be combined with other surgical procedures to enhance the overall outcome for the patient.

Liposuction is best suited for patients in good physical condition and at a normal weight. It produces excellent results in areas that just won’t seem to budge, even with the most disciplined diet and exercise regimen. Patients with firm, elastic skin tend to achieve the best results while older patients with decreased skin elasticity may not achieve desirable results with liposuction alone and may require additional skin excision (as an arm lift or thigh lift or tummy tuck).

The procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis and recovery varies from several days to a week. Patients are required to wear a compression garment for the weeks following surgery to help with swelling.
